The Kye Bay Spirit..
Kye Bay Guest Lodge and Cottages has been a popular,
family-oriented beach vacation spot since 1932.
Thousands
of families have built their "secret summer kingdoms" here and many
return to the same cottage, during the same week, each season. We are
excited this season to be joined by many fifth-generation Kye Bay
families.
Won't you join us and feel the Kye Bay Spirit?

Kye Bay Guest Lodge & Cottages is nestled on Vancouver Island's east
coast, with miles of white sandy beaches, a natural reef (chock full of
delicious oysters) to explore at low tide, and an unbelievable
"micro-climate" of warm sunny days and pleasant evenings kissed by
gentle sea-breezes.
Kye Bay is the beach that you remember from your own childhood,
unsurpassed freedom to roam, play, build sandcastles, eat a sandy
sandwich, catch a fish in a tidal pool, to reign supreme over your
secret summer kingdom. Kye Bay is freedom from phones, computers,
television, schedules for the kids, and the pressures of urban life.
Come home to Kye Bay and experience it again, for the first time!
Kye Bay offers miles of sandy beaches with warm and safe swimming
from May to October. When the tide goes out, it exposes a wonderful reef
with an abundance of clams and oysters. Small fish and other fascinating
sea life are found in the tidal pools. When the tide comes in, Kye Bay
becomes a playground for seals, and a hunting ground for Great Blue
Herons, Bald Eagles, and Osprey. Occasionally, pods of killer whales
pass by our windows. Georgia Strait always offers a diverse fleet of
cruise ships, coastal freighters, and large sailing yachts.
It is an easy
day-trip to watch the killer whales at Robson Bight, or to try your hand
at fishing for Pacific salmon. The area abounds in recreational
opportunities for horseback riding, golf, tennis, bird watching, hiking,
or a walk in the alpine meadows of Mount Washington.
Local festivals and arts activities include the Hornby Island Arts
festival, performances by resident artists of the Courtenay Youth Music
Camp, CFB Comox Air Show, HMCS Quadra's Ceremony of the Flags, the
Filberg Festival & Craft Fair and Comox Nautical Days. Galleries feature
works by local and internationally renowned native and non-native
artists and craftspeople.
